Dal makhani literally means buttery dal. The more slow cooked dal makhani is the better it tastes. In most Indian restaurants specializing in authentic North Indian food, Dal Makhani is simmered overnight or for many hours. Basically you can call it slow cooking of the lentils.
Instructions to make Dal makhni:
- First,take a cooker add washed dal 21/2 glass of water salt,turmaric cover the lid cook for four whistles.
- Heat the kadhai add oil add chopped onion salt garlic saute till it,s colour become light brown add ginger tomato puree & all dry spices saute well add malai cook few min now cover the dal.
- For tarka,kadhai put on flame add ghee cumin powder green chillies when it's crackles pour the tadka over the dal & mix well.
- Now dal makhni is ready serve it with kulcha.
