In Indian culture, it is considered one of the first solid foods that babies eat. I have used a mix of tur dal and moong dal to prepare this dal khichdi. I am trying and tasting dal khichdi for the first time.
Steps to make Dal Khichdi:
- Mix rice and dal in one bowl.
- Clean it properly and take in a pressure cooker and add 3 glass of water to it.
- Keep Gas flame in low and cook till 2 whistles.Add 1/2 spoon of turmeric powder. Add 1/2 spoon of Salt
- After 2 whistles wait for auto release.
- Make tadka for Dal Khichdi..Add 1 spoon oil to pan.
- When cumin seed is little brown in color Add curry leaves add chopped onion also.
- Fry onion for 2 to 3 mins.Then add Green peas.Add a pinch of salt to this.
- Now fry this pea for 2 to 3 mins.
- When the tadka is ready add to khichdi and mix well.
- Add some Desi ghee on top of Dal khichdi. Also add green chilli, coriander leaves and a lemon to decorate. Serve and Enjoy…
