- Heat oil in a pressure cooker on low medium heat.
- When oil gets heated, add cumin seeds, cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves. Saute for few seconds.
- Add chopped onion and green chillies. Saute till onion turns translucent.
- Add in the ginger garlic paste, saute for few seconds.
- Now, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander. Saute.
- Add chopped tomato and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Now add chopped veggies and mix well.
- Add peanuts and garam masala powder(optional). Mix well.
- Now add in the dry roasted broken wheat and mixed dal. Mix everything very well.
- Lastly add water and salt. Mix well. Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and pressure cook the khichdi for 2 whistles.
- Open the lid and add chopped coriander. Mix well.
- Serve this delicious, nutritious and healthy khichdi with curd.
- Tips:-
- I have used arhar, moong, chana and urad dal. You can use any dal of your choice.
- More vegetables can be added to make this khichdi more healthy.
