- Firstly, in a pressure cooker heat 1 tbsp ghee and saute 1 tsp jeera, 1 bay leaf and pinch of hing.continue to saute ½ onion till it turns translucent.now add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and 1 green chilli, saute well.
- Further add 1 tomato and saute till it turns soft and mushy.additionally add ¼ tsp turmeric, ¾ tsp salt and saute.
- Add in ½ cup rice and ½ cup moong dal, soaked for 20 mins.Saute on low flame for a minute or till moong dal turns aromatic.
- Pour 3½ cup of water and stir well. pour 4-5 cups of water if looking for watery consistency.pressure cook for 5 whistles.Once the pressure settles, mix gently adding 2 tbsp coriander leaves.
