Steps to make Toor Dal Khichdi:
- Wash & rinse the dal & rice properly with fresh water for 2_3 times.
- Drain out the water with stainer & let them dry.
- Heat ghee in cooker
- Now add whole red chillies & srir for a second.
- Add green chilies & curry leaves.
- Now add dried dal, rice & turmeric powder.stir for a minute.
- Boil 4 cup of water in a pan.
- Add this boiled to the khichdi & cover the cover with lid & put weight on it.
- Give it 2 whistles & switch off the flame.
- When it cools down, open it & mix well,Add some ghee in it & mix bhi gently.
- Heat ghee in a pan with cumin seeds,allow it to splutter.
- Now add whole garam masala spices.
- Cook for a while then add chopped garlic cloves & red chilli powder.Stir for few seconds Switch off the flame.
- Pour this tempering in the cooked khichdi.Mix well.
- Serve hot with curd.
