These veg momos or dim sum are made with stir-fried mix vegetable stuffing. Serve veg momos hot with momos chutney or red chilli-garlic chutney, spicy schezwan sauce or tomato. Steps to make Cheesy veg fried momos and chutney:
- Put maida and wheat flour in a kneading bowl and add salt, oil and soda. Mix it well and by using little water knead the dough and make it soft.
- Grease the dough with little oil and cover it with a cloth. Keep it for rest for 15 minutes.
- When the dough is under rest. Prepare the stuffing by heating oil in a pan and adding chopped garlic and onion. Turn them slight brown but don't over fry.
- Put grated carrot and cabbage in pan. Cook them slightly then add salt, black pepper and sauces. Put cheese and mix them well. Turn off the flame.
- Take a small ball from the dough. Now dust with some maida and start to roll using a rolling pin. Roll it thin and fill the stuffing in the centre.
- Apply little water at the edge and start pleading it. Press in middle and seal the momos forming a bundle. Repeat this step for makeing all momos bundles.
- Steam the momos for 15 minutes.
- Deep Fry the steamed momos in a pan until it turn brown. Take out the fried momos on tissue paper.
- For makeing chutney. Boil tomatoes and red chillies in a vessel until the tomatoes skin gets separated.
- Peel the tomatoes skin. Chopped the garlic. In a blending jar put chopped garlic, tomatoes, chillies,tomato sauce and salt. Blend it until it turns in a smooth sauce like paste.
- Momos and chutney are ready to serve.
