  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a pan on medium flame
  2. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves and saute for few seconds.
  3. Add the the onion, garlic, ginger and saute for 2 to 3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the tomatoes and cashews and mix it well
  5. Add 1 cup of water. Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes
  6. After 10 min remove the Bayleaf cloves and cinnamon stick
  7. Cool down a bit and then transfer to a blender. It’s important to let it cool down a bit else it will all blow up from the mixer.
  8. Grind the masala to a smooth paste.
  9. Take the same pan and add 2 tablespoons butter along with remaining 1 teaspoon oil on medium flame
  10. Add the red chili powder and the Kashmiri red chili powder and saute for few seconds. This will give the gravy a nice light red color.
  11. Add the paste, garam masala, cardommon powder Mix it well and cook for 2 minutes.
  12. Add the cream and mix. And add crushed kasuri methi.
  13. Add the paneer or Cheese and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  14. Garnish Paneer Butter Masala with Coriander and serve hot with naan, chapati or rice!
