- Prepare 2 cup roasted vermicelli
- Get 1 1/2 cup jaggery
- Make ready 4 cup water
- Get 5 tbsp ghee
- Make ready as needed dry fruit (Cashews and raisins)
- Get 1 pinch salt
- Prepare pinch Orange or yellow colour powder
- Take 2 tsp cardamom powder
Semiya Kesari is a very easy kesari recipe made with vermicelli and the best part is, it is quick to make and needs very little ghee unlike other kesari recipes. This semiya kesari is very easy to make. Semiya Kesari (Vermicilli Kesari) is an alternate for Rawa Kesari. This delicious dish is served in many marriages now a days.
Steps to make Semiya kesari:
- In a kadai, add 2 tbsps ghee, fry cashews and raisins. Remove from the ghee when cashews turn golden brown and raisins plump up. In the same kadai, add 2 tbsps ghee and roast the vermicelli to golden brown. In another vessel boil 1/2 cup water, add jaggery to it and boil till u get a syrup.Strain it and keep aside. Boil 4 cups of water and add the roasted vermicelli to it.
- Once the vermicelli becomes soft and tender and water almost evaporates add the jaggery syrup and keep stirring till the mixture becomes thick. Add colour powder and cardamom powder and mix. Add the cashews and raisins on the top and serve. Vermicelli kesari ready to serve!!!😀😋
The preparation is same as the rawa kesari. Semiya Kesari is delicious semiya sweet made without milk. This semiya sweet is a good option when you want. Semiya Kesari i have tasted for the first time in my friend's place when her mom made it for us. Though i noted down the recipe but somehow forgot to attempt it at home.
