The ingredients needed to make Pappu Charu:
- Take 1 Cup Toor or Arhar dal (wash and soak in water for 1/2 an hr)
- Get 4 Cups Water
- Make ready 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Make ready To taste Salt
- Prepare 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Prepare 1 Medium size Onion
- Take 2 Tablespoon Tamrind Pulp
- Take Tempering
- Take 2 Dry Red chili
- Get 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
- Prepare 2 tsp curry leaves
- Get 1 teaspoon Panch furan
- Get 5 chopped and crushed garlic cloves
- Get 2 Tablespoons Mustard oil
- Take Garnishing
- Take 2 tsp Coriander leaves
Steps to make Pappu Charu:
- Pressure cook the dal, by adding turmeric powder and 1 and 1/2 Cup water. Give 2 wistle and turn off the flame and let it relise it's gas by it's own.
- Now mix Tamrind Pulp with 1 Cup of water and mix with the boiled dal. Adjust it's water consistency.
- Now for tempering turn on the gas place a pan pour there oil. Wait for it's to smoke then add chopped onions, chopped and mashed garlic, dry red chilli powder, Asafoetida, curry leaves and saute it for 2 mins in medium flame then add panch furan, when it splitter add the cooked dal to it then add red chilli powder and cook it in slow to medium flame for 5 mins and also cover the lid.
- Check the dal and add now coriander leaves and serve with steam rice or with idlis also.
- Then enjoy.
