The ingredients needed to make Dahi Bhalla Chaat:
  1. Make ready 1 cup whole white urad dal
  2. Take 1/2 cup moong yellow dal
  3. Get 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. Take 3 finely chopped green chillies
  5. Get 1 tsp ginger finely chopped
  6. Get 1/4 tsp soda bi carb
  7. Get to taste Salt

  10. Take 5 cups fresh yogurt
  11. Take As per taste Sugar
  12. Take 1 tsp Kala namak
  13. Take 1 tsp cumin powder
  14. Take 1 tsp red chilli powder
  15. Take 1 tsp chaat masala
  16. Make ready to taste Salt
  17. Make ready 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  18. Prepare 1/2 cup green chutney
  19. Prepare 1/2 cup sweet chutney
  20. Get 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  21. Prepare 2 tbsp fine sev
Instructions to make Dahi Bhalla Chaat:
  1. Rinse soak urad dal, moong dal overnight or for 4-5 hours. Rinse well.
  2. Drain dal and add it to a blender jar with cumin, salt, green chilli, ginger and hing.
  3. Blend coarsely frist then pour 1 tbsp chilled water and grind as needed until the batter turns fluffy and light
  4. Remove the batter to a bowl and beat it well for 3-4 minutes to aerate the batter.
  5. Pour oil to a kadai and heat it enough to fry the vadas.
  6. Take small portions of the batter and drop into the oil.
  7. And fry until golden and crisp. Remove to a kitchen tissue.
  8. Drop fried vadas to a bowl of hot water while they are still hot. Rest them for 20 mins.
  9. Gently press down the vadas in-between palms one after the other to remove excess water.
  10. Places them in a serving tray.
  11. Beat yogurt until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and a little salt to the dahi.
  12. Pour dahi over vadas generously allow to rest at least 15 mins.
  13. Drizzle sweet chutney and green chutney in small dots all over vada.
  14. Sprinkle cumin powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala, kala namak and coriander leaves.
  15. Top with pomegranate seeds and fine sev. Serve dahi vada chaat immediately.
