- Get 150 gm red khajur (dates)
- Prepare 1 tbsp jaggery or sugar
- Prepare 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Get 1 tsp roasted cummin seeds powder
- Make ready 1/2 lemon (juice)
- Take to taste Salt
- Prepare For spicy green chutney :
- Prepare 1/2 cup phudina (mint) leaves
- Get 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Take 6-8 spicy green chillies
- Take 1 " ginger piece
- Take 1/2 tsp black rock salt
- Get 1/2 lemon (juice)
- Get to taste Salt
- Make ready Other ingredients for making Chat
- Take 1 big tomato finely chopped
- Get 1 big onion finely chopped
- Make ready Besan sev
- Take Finely chopped fresh coriander leaves to garnish
- Get Pomegranate pearls
- Get Chat masala for flavouring

Steps to make Dal Puri Chat:
- To prepare chanadal stuffing.. Wash and soak chanadal for 2 hours. Pressure cook with little water,salt (3 whistles)
- Add chopped onion and green chillies & ginger pieces in mixer jar. Grind to smooth paste.
- Heat oil in kadhai,do tempering (tadka) of cinnamon sticks and cloves. Add grinded paste, saute till ghee comes out. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and lemon juice or imli paste. Add little water and boil it.
- Add turmeric powder red chilli powder and lemon juice or imli paste. Add little water, salt and boil it for 1 minute. Add boiled chanadal. Cook on slow flame for 5 minutes. Chanadal stuffing is ready to use.
- To make khajur chutney.. deseed khajur/dates. Add water and pressure cook for 4 whistles. Cool and grind in mixer jar with red chilli powder, cummin seeds powder,salt and lemon juice with little water to make thick pouring consistency chutney. For spicy green chutney..grind all mentioned ingredients for making it in mixer jar with little water to make smooth thick dropping consistency chutney. Chopped tomato,onion,coriander leaves. Keep all ingredients ready to prepare Dal Puri Chat.
- To prepare Dal Puri Chat..make hole in centre in pani puri puris with your thumb. Place in serving plate. Add 1 tbsp of chanadal stuffing in each cavity of puri. On it pour 1 tsp each of khajur chutney and spicy green chutney.
- Put little chopped onion and tomatoes pieces. On it sprinkle besan sev, chat masala. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and pomegranate pearls.
- Serve/ Relish Delicious ChanaDal Chat immediately.
I tried making puris when I made pani puri which was a different recipe. Last weekend when I planned to make chats so made this puri a day before and enjoyed dahi puri with my family 🙂.
