Instructions to make Dal bati:
  1. Take wheat flour in a mixing bowl. Add rava, salt, baking powder, 2 tbs ghee and mix well.
  2. Now add little amount of milk or water to make dough. Knead the stiff dough. Cover it and rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile prepare dal. Take all dal together in pressure cooker rinse well.
  4. Add 3 cup water, ginger chilli paste, garam masala, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle over medium flame.
  5. Turn off the gas. When the pressure released naturally open the lid. Mash the dal.
  6. Heat the ghee in a pan on medium low flame. Add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder,coriander seed powder, red chilli powder mix well. Add coooked dal mix well.
  7. Add some water mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Finally add lemon juice. Switch off the gas. Transfer the dal to the serving bowl.
  8. Now take dough. Knead it well. Divide the dough in equal size portion. Make round shape ball. Gently press and flatten the ball in between the palm.
  9. Heat the ghee in pan on low flame. Place the bati in a pan. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the lid. Flip the bati and cook other side. Add some ghee if needed.
  11. Cover and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes. Now bati is cooked from all sides.
  12. Switch off the gas. Pour some ghee on bati and serve with dal.
