Instructions to make Dal pakwan:
  1. Mix all purpose flour, salt carrom seeds and cumin seeds well. Add 3 tbsp oil and mix well. Now knead a dough using sufficient amount of water. Dough should neither ne too hard nor too soft. Let the dough rest about 15 minutes. Than make balls of it and roll like a chapati. Prick the surface using knife or fork, so that it don't puff out. Pakwan is ready to fry.
  2. Heat oil in high flame than put pakwanin it and fry it on medium heat until it turns crisp and golden on both sides. Pakwan is ready to serve.
  3. Soak dal for 1 hour and drain it. Pressure cook dal with turmeric powder, salt and sufficient water. Take only one whistle and slow down the gas now wait for a few more minutes then turn off the gas. Let cool it down, open lid and check the dal, it should be tender but not mushy.
  4. In a tadka pan heat oil put hing cumin seeds and mustard seeds saute for a minute. Simmer the heat now add amchur powder, red chilli powder and garam masala saute again for a minute and pour on dal. Bring a boil to the dal and adjust consistency. Dal is ready
  5. 1n a plate crush a pakwan, pour dal over it. Now put green chutney, tamarind chutney, chopped onions, nylon sev and coriander leaves. Sprinkle some chaat masala. Serve hot.

Dal pakwan recipe is authentic Sindhi Breakfast dish. Crispy, fried puri is served with chana dal toppped with green chutney, meethi chutney and onion. Stir and add it to the dal. Mix well and take it off the heat. To make pakwan sift refined flour and wheat flour into a large bowl.
