There are many ways of making this dish but the recipe I am sharing with you is the one of my favorite way of making Aloo Gobi. The reason this recipe is called Aloo Gobi fry is because in this recipe we are not going to use any onions or tomatoes.
To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook aaloo gobi fry using 15 ingredients and 14 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Aaloo Gobi Fry:
- Get 2 Potatoes medium sliced or cubed
- Take 1 cauliflower medium cut into florets
- Take 1 Onion chopped
- Take 2 Tomatoes chopped
- Take 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- Get 1.5 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
- Take 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Take 1/2 tsp Amchur powder
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Kitchen king masala
- Take 1 tsp Kasoori methi
- Prepare 3-4 tbsp Oil
- Take Salt as par taste
- Take 2 tbsp Green coriander leaves
It is a great Punjabi dish which can be served in various ways. You can either serve it with the roti, puri or paratha at the time of breakfast or you can serve it as a side dish with dal, rice, salad, etc. It is an extremely easy and tasty dish. Peel the skin and chop the Potatoes.
Instructions to make Aaloo Gobi Fry:
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan on medium heat.
- Add cauliflower florets and fry for 2-3 minutes and then add potatoes.
- Fry on medium low heat for 7-8 minutes till potatoes and cauliflower have some brown spots on them.
- Drain on a tissue paper and set aside.
- In the same pan heat 2 tbsp of oil on medium heat and add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- Add the onions and cook for 2 minutes till translucent.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for another 2 minutes or till the raw aroma goes away.
- Add the tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes till they are little soft.
- Add turmeric powder red chilli powder coriander powder and amchur powder and mix well.
- Cover the pan and cook for 3-4minutes and add the potatoes and cauliflower to it and mix well.
- Add coriander leaves and give a nice stir.
- Add kitchen king masala and cook the potato and cauliflower on medium-low heat for 5-7miniutes.
- Add salt and mix well. Cover the pan and cook more additional 6-7 minutes on low flame. Off the flame.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti parantha.
Separate the cauliflower florets in to small. Chop the onion, slit open green chili. Aloo Gobi is one of my favourite vegetarian dishes. The version which we make at home is a distant relative of the type found in "curry houses" up and down the country. The authentic Aloo Gobi has light fluffy potatoes, which add a delightful creaminess to the dish, and perfectly cooked succulent cauliflower.
