The ingredients needed to make Till ki chikki:
  1. Prepare 250 gms till or white sesame
  2. Take 250 gms jaggery or gur
  3. Take 2 tsp clarified butter or ghee
  4. Prepare 1 Greased dish

It is specially made during winter and the festival of Sankranti and Lohri in Punjab and other Northern Indian states. I made this on Uttarayan but didn't get. Till Ki Chikki is a traditional Indian sweet which people usually like to have during the festive time of Makasakranti and Lohri. This sweet is mainly prepared with sesame seeds(till) and jaggery.

Instructions to make Till ki chikki:
  1. Take the dish and spread ghee on it
  2. Now take a kadhai and dry roast till in it for two to three minutes
  3. Empty it and then add ghee to it as soon as ghee melts add gur to it keeping in mind that gur should be broken into smaller pieces so that it melts easily
  4. When it starts boiling take a small bowl with little water drop a little bit of gur syrup in it if it rolls into a ball then add roasted till to it mix it well
  5. Now take it out on a greased dish with the help of rolling pin roll into thin block
  6. With the help of knife make marks on it
  7. After 10 minutes when it cools take it out and store in air tight container
