Instructions to make Fara:
- Mix cooked rice, rice flour, baking soda, sesame seeds, green chilli paste, ginger paste, coriander leaves, lemon juice and salt. Mix everything together to make a dough. Little bit of water can be used as required. Cooked rice can be skipped and instead of that only rice flour can also be used.
- Make cylindrical shape fara from the prepared dough. Put all these on a greased steamer tray. Steam and cook it for 20 minutes in a steamer.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When it crackles, add cumin, hing and sesame seeds. Add curry leaves and green chillies along with prepared fara. Mix everything well gently so that fara does not break. Cook for two minutes, add coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
- Serve prepared fara with green chutney.
