  1. Prepare 250 grams sesame
  2. Take 100 grams jaggery
  3. Prepare 4 tablespoons water
  4. Get 1 pinch cardamom powdered

Ellu urundai is one of our staple sweets during festivals like ganesh chaturthi or krishna jayanthy. I have already made a no cook version of this before, check out my ellu urundai recipe. But this is quite different and it is my grandma's recipe.

Steps to make Sesame candy (ellu mitayi):
  1. Roast the sesame seeds in a pan till they burst.
  2. Put another vessel on to the flames and put jaggery and water and stir it continuously until it reaches a thicker condition.
  3. Now add the sesame into the jaggery and mix it well in low flame.
  4. Add powdered cardomom into the mix.
  5. Take a plate and brush it with some ghee.
  6. Now pour the sesame mix into this plate and spread it well using a spoon.
  7. Cut it into pieces and use it after 2 hours
