  1. Wash the potatoes nicely. Boil or steam the potatoes. When the potatoes are still warm, peel off the skin and mash it well using a potato masher. Make sure there are no lumps.
  2. To the mashed potatoes, add green chillies, coriander leaves, chilli flakes, turmeric powder, cumin powder, cornflour, lemon juice and salt. Mix the potato mixture well.
  3. Apply some oil in between your palm. Pinch a portion of the potato mixture and shape the pattices. Repeat the process with the rest of the mixture. Made 6 medium sized pattices with the prepared potato mixture.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp Oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, slide the potato cakes into the oil. Fry the pattices till golden brown. Flip them and fry on the other side till crispy and golden brown.
  5. Once they are cooked, place them on the paper towel lined plate to drain. Repeat with remaining pattices. Serve hot aloo tikkis with ketchup or chutney along with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
