The ingredients needed to make Neer Dosa:
  1. Take rice
  2. Take Salt
  3. Prepare Water

Unlike the other versions of South Indian dosa, this dosa is made without any lentils and needs no fermentation. Hence, Neer Dosa can be said to be crepe prepared using water and rice flour. It is a fluffy, light bread which is made mostly in the south-west, coastal region of India and it is also known as bari akki dose. Neer Dosa , a dish made out of rice, unique to the region of Dakshin Kannada and Udipi district.

Steps to make Neer Dosa:
  1. Wash rice and soak it for 4 to 5 hours. Now drain water and put it in a mixture jar along with half a cup of water. Grind it into a very smooth batter.
  2. Pour this batter out in a big bowl and add salt as needed. Now add enough water to make it a watery batter. Mix it well.
  3. Grease a non-stick pan with the help of a tissue paper or with an onion. With the help of a ladle, pour some batter on the hot pan. Tilt the pan and spread the better nicely. Cover it and cook for 2 minutes on medium to high heat. When dosa is ready it will start coming out from the edges.
  4. Take this prepared dosa out on a wire and leave it for 30 seconds. Now fold it into a triangle. Prepare all dosa in the same manner. If you keep dosa for some time before folding, then it will not stick to the other side. Serve dosa with chutney, veg or non veg curries.

Serve with chutney or sambhar or for a change with jaggery mixed with grated coconut. This dosa is a simple and healthy breakfast option. And this a soft, thin and gluten-free dosa.
