  2. Make ready 25 gm red masoor ( red lentil )
  3. Prepare 200 gm chana dal(split chickpeas)

  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. Prepare 2 green chillies,slit lengthwise
  7. Take 750 ml water + extra for soaking the dal

  11. Make ready 2 & 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  12. Get 1 tsp/to taste red chilli powder
  13. Take 3 tbsp clarified butter

  15. Prepare 1 lemon juice
  16. Get as needed chopped coriander leaves

  18. Get 500 gm mutton ,with bones
  19. Prepare 500 ml water
  20. Make ready 2 tsp ginger paste
  21. Make ready 2 tsp garlic paste
  22. Get 1 & 1/2 tsp cumin seds
  23. Take 2 gren chillies, slit lengthwise
  24. Get 150 gm onion,finely sliced
  25. Make ready 100 gm tomato chopped
  26. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  27. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  28. Take 3/4 tsp cumin powder
  29. Take 3/4 tsp coriander powder
  30. Get 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  31. Take 1/4 cup oil
  32. Make ready to taste salt
Instructions to make Bohri style dal gosht:
  1. For the dal : Wash and soak the dals in water for 2 hours. Drain ina pot or pressure cooker add soaked dals along with ingredients listed for dal.Cover pot with a tight fitted lid or pressure cook the dal until soft and mashed,Turn the heat off, Keep aside,
  2. For the mutton: In a deep bottomed pot or pressure cooker heat oil. Add cumin seeds.When they start to crackle add onions along with ginger paste, garlic paste and green chillies.
  3. Saute till onions turn soft. Add tomatoes along with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
  4. Add mutton pieces and saute for 5 minutes.Add water. Cover pot with with a light fitted lid or pressure cook till mutton is soft and cook through. Add mutton along with stock into the mashed dal. Mix through.For
  5. For tempering the dal gosht : Heat clarified butter. Add cumin seeds. When they start to crackle add minced garlic, curry leaves and kashmiri red chilli powder. Saute for2 minitues and add to the dal gosht. Give the dal gosht 2-3 boils.
  6. Squeeze in the lemon juice, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
