The ingredients needed to make Dal Vada:
  1. Prepare 1 cup Bengal gram (Chana dal), soaked for 8-10 hours
  2. Take 1 medium Onion
  3. Get 1 inch Ginger piece
  4. Get 12-15 Curry leaves
  5. Take 2 Green Chilies
  6. Prepare 3 tbsp Chopped fresh Coriander leaves
  7. Prepare 1 tbsp Mint leaves
  8. Get to taste Salt
  9. Get As required Oil for deep frying
  10. Get As per taste Green Chutney to serve
Instructions to make Dal Vada:
  1. Finely chop onion and ginger and set them aside.
  2. Take a blender jar, add bengal gram, curry leaves and green chilies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, curry leaves and blend to a coarse paste. Scrape the sides of the blender jar in between.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add salt, onion, ginger and mix well.
  4. Dampen your palms with water and flatten them slightly between your palms and set aside.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a Kadai, deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.
