The ingredients needed to make Plain Butter Dosa:
- Take 3 Cups rice
- Make ready 1 cup urad dal
- Prepare 1/2 tsp soda

- Get 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
- Prepare 3 tsp butter
- Take 1/2 cup poha
Use whole and fresh (within expiry date) urad dal to get soft dosa. Don't use split urad dal. b. Use good quality idli rice and parboiled rice only. c. Measure the ingredients exactly as given above.
Steps to make Plain Butter Dosa:
- Rinse rice and dal for 4 to 5 times and soak them for4 to 5 hours and add fenugreek seeds to soak with rice and dal
- Now grind rice and dal and seeds into paste using mixe or grinder or food processor.
- Now cover the batter and let it ferment in a warm place,for at least 6 hours or till it doubles in volume
- Now heat a non-stick pan on medium heat. Now add a tsp of butter and put a ladle of batter on pan and turn flame to slow.
- After about 2 minutes flip the dosa. Now dosa is ready. Apply butter on dosa and consume it hot.
