  1. Finely chop the onions, tomato, ginger, garlic and slit the green chillies.
  2. Crush the ginger & garlic in a mortar and pestle. This step is speciality of Chettinad cooking and adds great flavour to the dish.
  3. Wash and devein the prawns
  4. In a pan with the gingely oil, add the mustard, cumin, chillies, curry leaves and fry until they are crisp and aromat
  5. Add the ginger, garlic and onions. Fry until onions brown.
  6. Add the tomato. Fry for 2 mins. Add the chilli powder, turmeric, salt and black pepper. Mix well.
  7. Once the veggies are softened add the prawns. Mix well. Cover and cook on low flame for 15 mins. Keep a watch as seafoods cook fast.
  8. Finally garnish with coriander. Squeeze in half a lime juice for some tang. Serve hot with roti/rice.
