The ingredients needed to make Khatta Dhokla:
- Prepare 1 cup rice
- Prepare 1/2 cup chana daal
- Take 1/2 cup curd
- Get 1/2 cup water
- Get 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- Make ready 1 tablespoon ginger garlic green chili paste
- Get Some red chili powder
- Prepare to taste Salt
Steps to make Khatta Dhokla:
- Soak chana daal and rice in water overnight.
- Drain water and grind them with Curd and water. Batter should be coarse like idly batter.
- Pour in to the vessel and put it to ferment in warm place.
- Once batter fermented add salt, ginger garlic green chili paste to it. Mix well. Batter consistency should be like idli batter.
- Heat the steamer with 3 glass of water in the bottom. Grease the dhokla plates with oil.
- Add baking soda to the batter with some hot water. Mix for 1 minute. Bubbles will appear on top of the batter.
- Immediately pour the batter to the dhokla plates. Sprinkle some redchilly powder on it.
- Steam the dhoklas in medium heat for 10-12 min.
- Check with toothpick. If it comes out clear. Dhokla is done.
- Serve Dhoklas with groundnut oil and garlic chutney.
