Instructions to make Poha/Aval Kesari (flattened rice dessert):
  1. Add the poha to a non stick pan and dry roast on medium heat for 3-4 minutes
  2. Take off heat and let cool completely
  3. Dry grind the poha into a course mix
  4. Melt 2 tablespoon ghee in a non stick pan
  5. Add the cashews and raisins to the pan
  6. Sauté on Low heat until cashews are brown and raisins puff up
  7. Once done, take off heat and keep them aside
  8. Add the poha now and roast for 3-4 minutes on Low heat
  9. Add water now and mix well
  10. Once lump free add 2 teaspoon ghee and mix
  11. Add the cardamom powder, colour and jaggery
  12. Combine by mixing continuously for 2 minutes
  13. Once the mixture comes together, add the cashews and raisins
  14. Mix and take off heat
  15. Enjoy warm !
