- Make ready 1/2 cup Milk Powder
- Get 1 cup sugar
- Prepare 1 1/2 cup water

- Prepare 1/8 tsp baking soda
- Get 4-5 Cardamom pods

Steps to make Gulab Jamun:
- Take 1-cup sugar, 5 green cardamom pods, 1½ cups water and in a deep pot or pan. Lemon juice is added to prevent syrup from solidifying when it cools. Keep it over medium flame and stir occasionally till it gets sticky. Once it's ready turn off the flame.
- In a bowl take milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda and mix well. Add clarified butter and mix with your hands.
- Now sprinkle milk and mix gently. It will be soft and sticky. Don't overmix it.
- Grease your palms with oil and divide the mixture into marble sized small portions. Shape them round crack free balls.
- In a deep frying pan when the oil is medium hot. Slowly drop the balls and fry till golden brown.
- Heat the sugar syrup and deep fried jamuns in that. Slowly it will increase in size by absorbing the sugar syrup. It's ready to serve. Garnish it with chopped almonds.
