Instructions to make Gulab jamun:
- For making the sugar syrup take a pan and add water in it.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder.
- Boil it for 5 minutes to form 1string consistency.
- Add kesar to it.
- Once you see the syrup is thickened turn off the gas and let the syrup cools down.
- Now next is to prepare the dough so for it take a bowl.
- Add maida,sooji and baking soda to it.
- Seive it nicely and turn the powder to another bowl.
- Add khoya/milk powder to it.
- Mix it all well.
- Add ghee/oil, lemon juice and curd to it.
- Again mix it well and knead it for 3-4minutes and form a nice dough by adding milk as per the requirement (in preparation of soft dough)
- Let it rest for sometime.
- Now make small balls of it.
- Take a kadai and add oil in it for frying.
- Once the oil gets hotter put the balls in it and deep fry it until the color changes to brown.
- Now take it out from the kadai and soak it in the sugar syrup until it absorbs the syrup in it and becomes softer.
- Serve it in a bowl
