You don't need to add any cream to make it smooth. Dhaba is the restaurant near the roads mainly on the highways. In the dhaba, they use chana dal, arhar dal and urad dal. I have also added moong dal and masoor dal.
Steps to make Dhaba chana daal:
- Take a wok put oil in it than add zeera and onion altogether
- Fry onion till light golden in colour
- Than add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes altogether in it
- Fry till tomatoes get soft and mix well than add all dried spices in it with 1/2 glass of water
- Than add boiled chana daal in it and cook on medium flame
- When water dried and oil seperates garnish with dhania, mirchi and julian ginger serve with nan,roti or rice
This dhaba dal also uses less oil as compared to the dhaba ones. At times, I also give dhungar to this dal.
