I have not used pressure cooker to make this biryani. You can use pressure cooker to fasten the process. This recipe is a great one-pot meal idea for the weekend lunch or the light summer meal post indulgent weekend meal. A combinaion of carbohydrates and proteins all packed in this one meal, that can be packed in lunch boxes or just served as a simple weekday meal.
Instructions to make Chana pulao:
- First soaked your rice and set a side.
- Now heat oil add chopped onion and whole spice and fry till it turned light golden.
- Now add green chillies, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, salt, cumin crushed, coriander crushed and chicken cubes.
- Bhunify it well until tomatoes softened.
- Now add boiled chana (chickpeas).
- Cook for about 5 mins and it's done.
- Now add your rice and salt according to your taste.
- Add water as required.
- Cook on high flame until water dries.
- When water dries put them in dum for about 5 mins.
- Yummy Chana pulao is ready.
Chana pulao stepwise pictures method: Soak chana overnight. Slice onion lengthwise and slit green chillies. Heat a small pressure cooker with oil/ ghee and temper with the items given under 'To temper' table. Add onion, green chillies and fry till onion turns translucent.
