  15. Prepare 1 tsp curry powder
  16. Make ready 1 tsp garam masala powder
Instructions to make Mixed Dal Tadka:
  1. Soak the mixed dal overnight. Clean, wash and pressure cook with turmeric and salt.
  2. In a wok heat oil. Add bay leaf, hing, panch phoron and splutter them.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook till translucent. - Mix ginger, garlic, chopped tomatoes and adjust the salt.
  4. Cover and cook in low flame till tomatoes are soft and mushy, and oil is separated.
  5. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, crushed kasoori methi, curry powder, and garam masala powder and 1 tbsp of water. Cook in low flame till oil separates.
  6. Mix the boiled mixed dal with cooked masala properly. Adjust the gravy by adding warm water and cook for 3 minutes.
