- Get 1 cup soaked toor dal
- Prepare 2 spoons soaked masoor dal
- Get 1 onion
- Take 1 tomato

- Prepare 2 red chillies

It is specially popular in Uttar Pradesh and Punjabi cuisine. Yellow moong daal is cooked and digested easily as. Daal tadka is a popular vegetarian dhaba recipe that can be prepared easily at home. Use of pulses and Indian spices make it a spicy and delicious side dish.
Steps to make Daal tadka:
- Soak the toor Dal and mansoor daal for 30 mins. Drain water, for 1 cup of Toor Dal and 2 spoons of masoor Dal, add 3 cups of water, add pinch of turmeric powder, 1 spoon of oil and cook in cooker for 6 whistles.
- Slice onions, tomato, curry leaves, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Take a pan, turn on the stove, pour some oil, once the oil heats, put mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic and green chilli, salute for 30 secs. Put onion, salt, turmeric fry until brown, add tomatoes, close the lid, keep in medium flame, open the lid after 2 minutes, add chilli powder, coriander powder, saute for 1 minute in low flame.
- Then add Dal into the pan, fry it for 2 minutes.
- Again take a small pan and add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli add this back into the Dal.
- Take out the Daal in a bowl, and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice/roti/chapati.
