At the time of serving do tadka again. In a tadka pan heat 1 teaspoon oil. Add 1 dry red chilli, finely chopped 2-3 cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon chopped tomato and 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder. Saute for few seconds. Pour this tadka over dal and serve with jeera rice.
  4. Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 15-20 minutes. Then cook as all grains remain separate.
  5. In a pan heat ghee. Add cumin seeds. Cook till turns golden brown. Add cloves, cinnamon piece and chopped green chillies. Add cooked rice. Add salt and mix well. Mix chopped coriander leaves and serve with dal tadka.
