  1. Rinse toor dal and pressure cook for 3 whistles or until dal is cooked well.
  2. In a large wok heat 2 tbsp ghee over medium flame.
  3. Add cumin let splutter, add in hing a pinch, ginger garlic paste and saute.
  4. Now add in finely chopped onion and saute until it turns golden brown.
  5. Add in turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.
  6. Now add in tomato puree and saute until it starts leaving sides.
  7. Lastly add in cooked dal, stir well and add water to adjust the consistency.
  8. Cook for 5 minutes or until it combined well.
  9. Now add chopped coriander and mix well.
  10. Serve dal tadka with rice and enjoy.
