Steps to make Dal Vada:
  1. Soak the chana dal in water for about 2 hrs or until it softens.
  2. Now to prepare the dal vada mixture, take a food processor and add soaked chana dal, curry leaves, ginger, garlic, green chilies and coarsely ground all the ingredients.
  3. In a mixing bowl, take the vada mixture and add onion, semolina and salt to taste.
  4. Combine well all the ingredients. Now take a portion of vada mixture in hand and shape it into flat disc of around 2 to 3 inch diameter.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the dal vadas.
  6. Remove the vadas on absorbent paper and let the excess oil get soaked.
