  2. Prepare 1 green chilli chopped

  8. Prepare 1/4 cup tamarind chutney

Steps to make Moong Dal Dahi Vada:
  1. Wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for 4-5 hours.
  2. Strain the water from soaked dal.
  3. Take this soaked dal in a blender jar, add in the green chilli and ginger to it. Add 2-3 tsp water and grind the dal till it forms a smooth paste.
  4. Take out this dal mixture in a bowl, add salt. Whisk it for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a wok on medium flame.
  6. Now take small-small portions from the dal mixture and put them in heated oil to form fritters.
  7. Fry these fritters on medium till they starts turning golden brown in colour.
  8. Take them out and immediately add into the lukewarm water and cover it for 5 minutes.
  9. After 5 minutes take them out and squeeze out the excess water with light hands.
  10. Assemble the vadas in a serving dish.
  11. Add black salt and sugar to the whisked yoghurt and mix well.
  12. Pour this whisked curd over the vadas. Garnish with tamarind chutney, green chutney, cumin powder, red chilli powder and coroander.
