To smoke dal makhani, start by heating the charcoal till its red on an open flame or grill. Place a heat proof bowl in the middle of the pot of dal makhani and place the hot coal in it. - Soak whole urad daal, rajma, and chana daal overnight.
- In a pressure cooker add soaked and washed daal with water, salt and pressure cook for 10-12 whistles on high flame till daal have softened.
- In a pan add butter, cumin seed, cloves, green cardamom, black cardamom, bay leaf, and saute till all spices turns aromat.
- Now add chopped onionand saute till light brown in colour.
- Now add ginger garlic paste, chopped green chillies, tomato puree, red chilli powder, ciba garam masala, ciba daal makhni masala, salt mix and saute till oil leaves the sides of the pan.
- Now add cooked dal, milk and some water and cook on low flame for about 10 - 15 minutes.
- Now add cream and chopped coriander leaves and cook for another 2 min.
- Your daal makhni is ready to serve. serve hot with naan, tandoori roti or with rice.
