Always fascinated by the name as well as looks of the keerai vadai I have seen (only seen, never tasted once ☹). Even I would have seen only few times in. Vadai is always special in Tamilnadu. Meanwhile, wash spinach and place in a pan over lot heat until the leaves wilt.

Steps to make Keerai badai(spinach dal vada):
  1. Mix both dal and soak for 3-4 hours,after 2 hours drain water.
  2. Take 3 tbsp of dal separately and rest of take in mixer grinder along with ginger, green chillies salt and grind well.
  3. Add all the ingredients along with rice flour and spinach.Mix well and make mixture.
  4. Take a tbsp of mixture and give shape of vada.
  5. Fry in hot oil till vada crisp and golden.add 4-5 in one time to maintain the temperature of oil.
  6. Ready to serve hot with tea.

Once soaked, drain completely and pulse the dal in a mixer or food processor into a coarse. So i tried this vada for first time. It was super cripsy , flavourful and yet soft inside. This shows the success of this recipe … I used pink variety keerai and i just ground the keerai once along with channa dal. So my vada was slighlty brownish yellow in color.
