- Take 1/2 cup tuar daal
- Take 1/3 cup chana daal
- Prepare 1/3 cup moong daal

- Get 1/2 cup fresh cream

- Get 2 spoons ghee
- Get 1 spoon oil
- Take as required Coriander leaves for garnish
- Prepare For rice-
- Get 1 cup rice
- Take 1 chopped onions
- Get 1 spoon jeera
- Prepare 1 spoon ginger garlic paste
- Make ready 2 cups water
- Prepare 1/2 lemon
- Prepare 1 spoon ghee
- Prepare 1 spoon oil
- Get as needed Coriander leaves for garnishing
Steps to make Daal Makhni and Jeera Rice:
- For Dal-
- Soak all the Dal in water for 30 minutes.
- Now put it in the pressure cooker. Add 1 tomato,1 onion,turmeric powder, 1/2 spoon salt and little water.
- Cook it on medium flame till 3 whistles (approximately 15 mins).
- Let it cool and open the cooker.
- Now mix the daal properly by adding little water. And cook for five mins.
- In a pan add 2 spoons of ghee and 1 spoon of oil and heat it.
- Add bay leaves, curry leaves, jeera, red and green chillies and fry for 2 mins.
- Now add chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and salt and cook for 2 minutes.
- Now add cream and cook for r min. Now add Dal and cook for 5 mins by covering.
- Dal makhni is ready. Now garnish it with coriander leaves and a little cream.
- For rice-
- Soak the rice in water for 15 mins before cooking.
- In a pan add 1 spoon of oil and 1 spoon of ghee and allow to heat.
- Add jeera, chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Now add rice and fry for 2 minutes.
- Now add hot water and let the rice cook open until the rice absorbs 80% of water.
- Now Lower the flame and cover the rice and cook for 5 mins.
- Jeera rice is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves
- Serve daal makhni with jeera rice.
