Instructions to make Idlies:
- First cut potatoes in cube shapes and in small size and grind and makea batter
- Transfer potato batter in a bowl and then add semolina and mix and add curd and if required add water or otherwise add salt and mix all and keep it aside for 15 minutes
- Then after 15 minutes add soda Nd take idly stand and grease oil and pour with the help of spoon and steam for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes let it cool down and take all idlies in a plate and on stove and put pan and add oil and once heat add all mustard and cumin seeds
- Once sputtter add curry leaves and powder and fry and then add idlies and fry for few minutes and aswitchoff stove then add lemon juice over it and mix
- Ready to eat :)
It turned out to be very soft. And can u tell me, did u use raw rice or boiled rice or combination of both. Idlies are served with fresh coconut chutney and or a light lentils stew called sambhar. Idlies are made with a naturally fermented sourdough batter, that can be also used for dosas and uthapams. Idlies taste best when the batter is fresh, so after a week we use it for dosas and kuzhipaniyaram.
