Instructions to make Thandai:
- Grind all the ingredients in the mixer except gulab jal, saffron strings, ice cubes, rose petals and milk and make fine powder.
- Now sift the powder using a seive or muslin cloth (Malmal ka kapada). Thandai powder is ready for making thandai. You may also store the thandai powder in an air tight container for later use.
- Soak four tbsp of this powder (for two serving) in 1/4 cup of lukewarm milk for ten minutes.
- After 10 minutes mix the remaining milk well. Add two tsp Gulab jal, mix it well and serve chilled thandai with SAFFRON strings, ice cubes and garnish with rose petals.
