Place tofu in a large bowl. Add onion, egg, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, basil, marjoram, rosemary, oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, hot sauce, and garlic; mix well with your hands until thoroughly combined. Drizzle some olive oil on the lined baking sheet.

  1. Take 7 firm tofu
  2. Make ready 113 g shrimps

  6. Take 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  7. Prepare 1 tsp ground coriander
  8. Get 2 tbs cornstarch

  12. Prepare 1 lemon/lime
  13. Take 30-50 ml water
  14. Make ready Birds eye chilies (optional)

Cut the leek into small pieces. The first step to prepare the tofu veggie balls is to crumble the tofu with your hands. Then we will prepare the sauce for our vegetarian meatballs; for this, clean and chop the carrot and onion. In a food processor or blender, place tofu, liquid amino's, nutritional yeast flakes, tapioca starch, onion powder, garlic, and sea salt and process.

Instructions to make Tofu Balls:
  1. Peel and devein the shrimps. Chopped them into small size. Squeeze lemon/lime juice over the shrimps to remove the smell. Set aside.
  2. Mash the tofu in a big bowl into small chunks.
  3. Prepare the herbs. Mince the garlic, slice the chilies and scallions, plus cut and shred the carrot. Add them into the tofu bowl.
  4. Add the shrimps and all seasonings. Mix them well.
  5. Make a hole in the middle of the mixture. Add the egg in the hole. Mix them well while adding water little by little into a nice consistency. Be careful not to put too many water or else the tofu balls will fall apart when cooking.
  6. Finally shape the mixture into balls. Depends on their size, we can make around 17-20 balls.
  7. At this point you have 2 option for cooking them, steam or deep fry.
  8. Steam: use cooking paper at the base of steamer for easier cleaning. Place the tofu balls and steam them for about 7-10 minutes.
  9. Deep-fry: beat an egg in a bowl. Add 2 tbs of water and mix them well. Dip the tofu balls in the egg mixture then deep fry them in hot oil over medium low heat until golden brown.
  10. Serve while it's hot. You can eat them with chili sauce or fresh birds eye chilies.

Pour blended mixture into the bowl with seasoned breadcrumbs and mix well. Now that meat is out of my life, it doesn't mean the balls are! This recipe just has a little unconventional twist. Instead of meat and eggs, we use tofu, mushrooms, and flax seeds. The results are a perfect round ball that doesn't crumble on contact like other veggie ball recipes I've tried out there.
